Each of the AEC-Q100-compliant driver ICs includes low on-resistance DMOS FETs and can give a 1.5A (maximum) current. Due to the large number of micro-steps supported, motor noise is significantly diminished, with smoother operation and more exact control being provided. The built-in mixed decay mode serves to stabilise the current waveforms. Many protection mechanisms are included, these comprise over-current and over-temperature detection, and thermal shutdown. Also included is a stall detection function.
These devices are provided in compact VQFN packages (with 6mm x 6mm dimensions) offering wettable flanks to enable the application of AOI for assuring the quality of solder joints. They support an operational temperature range from -40C to 125C.
Typical applications comprise battery management systems, or refrigeration circuit expansion valves for air conditioning.
