At present, the major TV brand manufacturers are focusing on the layout of high-end TVs. They mainly use 4K or OLED as the two main axes. Samsung will use the existing QLED wide color gamut with Mini LED backlight that can be adjusted in multiple zones. Improving the contrast and display effects to make the picture quality more detailed, coupled with the advantage of lower prices than OLED TVs, is expected to expand the market share.

TrendForce said that in 2021, Samsung will launch 55-inch, 65-inch, 75-inch, 85-inch and other large-size Mini LED backlight TVs, with 4K high-resolution picture quality, and adopt Mini LED multi-zone backlight control, which can change the existing The display contrast ratio has been increased from 10,000:1 to 1,000,000:1. It is estimated that the number of backlight partitions of Mini LED needs to be at least 100 zones or more to have such a high contrast effect; therefore, the number of corresponding backlight modules is also relatively increased. According to different design specifications of each TV, the number of Mini LEDs used is about Between 8,000 and 30,000, with the combination of high-resolution panels and multi-zone light control, consumers can upgrade their display experience.
