MIC29302A is a high-current, low-cost, low-dropout voltage regulator, which uses Micrel Semiconductor’s proprietary super βetaPNP process and PNP bypass components. The 3ALDO regulator has a 450mV (full load) voltage difference and extremely low ground current. Designed for high current loads, these devices can also be found in lower current, low dropout critical systems, where their dropout voltage and ground current values are important attributes.
With a total accuracy of ±2% (over the entire temperature range, line and load regulation) the regulator has a very fast recovery from input voltage surges and output transients to load current changes. The MIC29302A has an adjustable output that can be set to a voltage between 1.24V and 15V through two external resistors. In addition, the device is fully protected to prevent excessive current faults, input reverse polarity, reverse lead insertion and overheating operation. The TTL logic enable (EN) pin is available in the MIC29302A to turn off the regulator. When not in use, the device can be set to continuous operation (IN) by connecting the input of EN. The MIC29302A is available in standard 5-pin TO-263 and TO-252 packages, and the operating junction temperature range is 40°C to +125°C.
