New SP-Caps feature longest lifetime and lowest ESR in the market

Panasonic Industry has introduced a new series of SP-Caps, including the TX, TZ, JZ, and KZ series, which expand on the popular KX series. These chip-type capacitors offer the longest lifetime and the lowest equivalent series resistance (ESR) values currently available in the market. They also demonstrate excellent performance in damp heat conditions, withstanding 85°C, 85% relative humidity for 1000 hours. These components are highly reliable and do not require maintenance throughout their lifetime. The low-profile design of the SP-Caps allows for close integration with heat sinks. The main target applications for these capacitors include 5G base stations, AI servers, and industrial equipment.
 


The TX series represents the cutting edge of technology, withstanding up to 5500 hours at 135°C and offering a maximum capacitance of 470µF. These capacitors boast ESR values as low as 3m. The TZ series, on the other hand, is suitable for customers requiring higher capacitance, with values up to 560µF. The TZ series shares the same specifications and compact height of 2.2mm as the TX series.
 
For less demanding environments, Panasonic Industry offers the JZ series, which can handle 3000 hours at 125°C, and the KZ series, which can withstand 5500 hours at 125°C. Capacitance ranges up to 560µF, and the maximum height is only 2.3mm. The rated voltage for these series ranges from 2V up to 6.3V. ESR values vary from super-low at 3mto 15m.
 
Shahrokh Kananizadeh, Senior Product Manager at Panasonic Industry, highlights the features of the SP-Caps, emphasizing their rectangular chip-shaped aluminum solid capacitors that utilize a polymer electrolyte. These products offer advantages such as ultra-low ESR, large capacitance values, low profiles, extended lifespan, and high characteristic stability.
