The Research and Development Center GS Labs (part of the GS Group holding) has registered with the Federal Service for Intellectual Property (Rospatent) its invention "Dual-tuner receiver of a satellite broadcasting system and a method for selecting its mode of operation."
The development relates to dual-tuner receiving equipment of a digital satellite broadcasting system. GS Labs specialists have made a number of hardware and software improvements that can significantly improve the consumer qualities of this type of equipment.
The existing dual-tuner satellite receivers on the market, as a rule, have a number of disadvantages associated with the peculiarities of their connection: limited functionality, difficulty in setting up, the need to use additional equipment to broadcast a satellite broadcast signal to a second subscriber device. The invention of GS Labs allows you to maximize the potential of a dual-tuner receiver connected with only one antenna cable and get additional benefits: the ability to connect a client receiver, independently stream to a second TV / device, background content recording within the PVR functionality, background support for system processes, etc. d.
The special configuration of the tuners and the organization of the method of their connection ensures operation without additional external devices and costs on the part of the user. At the same time, the quality of the signal is improved due to its hardware amplification. The solution provides automatic detection of the number of connected cables, which greatly simplifies the setup of the set-top box and further work with it.
"Our company follows the global trends of high technologies. We offer the most accessible and intuitive products that are easy to connect and manage, but at the same time they have a lot of features. A new patent has been received for just such a technology. This is another and logical step towards continuous development, quality improvement and customer care at all stages of our products", - commented Alexey Goylo, Director of the Sales and Marketing Department at GS Labs.
